Nine members of Nodifi’s corporate team took part in last Thursday’s Vinnies CEO Sleepout fundraiser, raising almost $19K in the process.

Led by Nodifi CEO Tom Caesar, the team finished on a high, raising $10k in 48 hours to conclude a successful fundraising campaign.

While raising $19K was a commendable achievement, Tom says the exposure around homelessness in Australia was perhaps the most valuable takeaway.

“As a group with extensive relationships Australia-wide, we have a corporate social responsibility to leverage those networks in a meaningful way – raising awareness and supporting initiatives close to home fits that value.”

“I think there’s a stigma in society that associates homelessness with those from a low socioeconomic background, however, that’s simply not true – homelessness can happen to anyone – it can happen to you and me.”

“The recent Coronavirus pandemic should be a reminder of that, a lot of people had their life turned upside down overnight.”

“St Vincent de Paul Society does an incredible job supporting those experiencing homelessness – it’s comforting to know there’s always someone to turn to.”

Asked whether there was an element of ‘fundraiser competitiveness’ among the Nodifi team, Tom responded.

“I don’t think anyone will admit it, but there certainly was.”

“The team were scrambling on those last few days – raising $10K in the last 48 hours shows that.”

“Also a big thank you to all who donated, we’re humbled by their generosity.”

The initiative – run by the St Vincent de Paul Society – raises awareness and funds to provide people experiencing homelessness and people at risk of homelessness with vital access to food and accommodation.
